NIGER RESCUE MOVEMENT (NRM) MOURNS REPORTED CROWD TRAGEDY AT NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE.

The Niger Rescue Movement (NRM) received with profound shock and deep sorrow reports of a deadly crowd incident at the Niger State Government House on 29th September, 2026.

On behalf of the entire NRM family across the 25 Local Government Areas of Niger State, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, our sympathy to those injured, and our solidarity to all citizens affected by this painful tragedy.

Every life lost is a painful loss to the entire state. No citizen should lose his or her life while seeking assistance, hope or support from government.

1. Immediate care for victims:

All injured persons should receive prompt, quality medical attention at no cost, while the families of the deceased should be given appropriate support.

2. A transparent investigation:

We urge the relevant authorities to conduct an immediate, independent and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with the findings made public and responsibility established where necessary.

3. Stronger crowd-safety measures:

Government programmes involving large gatherings, palliatives or public assistance must be properly planned, with professional crowd management, adequate security, medical preparedness and clear safety protocols to prevent a recurrence.

We appeal to citizens to remain calm and allow the appropriate authorities to establish the facts. We equally encourage NRM members and well-meaning citizens to support affected families and, where medically appropriate and requested by health authorities, donate blood and provide other assistance to victims receiving treatment.

At NRM, we believe that the protection of human life must remain at the heart of governance. In moments such as this, our collective humanity must rise above every difference.

May Almighty Allah grant eternal rest to the departed, grant the injured a speedy recovery, and give their families and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss.
